Diabetes has reached epidemic proportions in the United States. An estimated 86 million people have prediabetes, while an additional 29.1 million Americans have been diagnosed with diabetes. During this introductory class, learn about prediabetes/diabetes, risk factors, diagnosis and treatment options. Knowledge is power. Learn how small lifestyle changes can have a positive effect on your overall health, while lowering your risk for disease related complications.
This hour long presentation will be given by Maureen Sullivan-Tevault, an RN and CDE (Certified Diabetes Educator). She is a Care Assure Nurse Navigator @ HCA Northside Hospital. This program is being sponsored by Pinellas Park Medical District & National University of Health Sciences Whole Health Center of Pinellas Park.
